Calvin has been home for 13 days and he truly LOVES it! He is such a happy boy to begin with (a tremendous blessing considering all he has been through), but getting kisses from his big sister and laying with Katharina on the playmat and getting to be held and interacted with more on a regular basis has increased that even more!

Calvin LOVES his baths! This was his very first one at home.

It has been quite an adjustment for Corey and I as we do our best at adapting Calvin’s routine to our daily family life. It was overwhelming the first few days but we are slowly getting the hang of things! Every day, Calvin has chest physio, nebulizer treatments, trach care, multiple medications, G-tube and GJ-tube care, temperature checks and 18 hours of feeds – all on top of the regular baby stuff like baths, diaper changes, etc. He has a monitor that reads both his heartrate and oxygen saturations when he is hooked up to it and a suction machine we use to clear secretions from his trach as often as needed. We have night nursing from 11pm through until 7am so we can sleep.

Calvin has finally met some of the countless people who have been praying for him for months and months. We are excited to introduce him to the rest of you over time! He is slowly becoming a rockstar at tummy time (considering he’s been on his back for the vast majority of his life), has been bearing some weight on his legs (which is *brand new* since coming home), and has found a new appreciation for being held and snuggled!
