Calvin has been doing so well since his surgery! Dr. Scott was overly pleased with how things went – much better than October’s surgery. He didn’t even need to go back on the ventilator so just one night in PCCU and then back up to the paediatrics floor!

We began our trach training on Tuesday and Corey replaced Calvin’s trach for the first time like a pro! Corey and I have to do three replacements each (and then two replacements by someone close to us who will be with him often – Corey’s Mom) before Calvin can be discharged. All three of us are required to do CPR training as well. Papers are being processed for funding for medical expenses, night nursing is in the very beginning stages of being organized, and we are starting to plan how we will set up Calvin’s equipment, crib, etc. on our main floor.
Definitely *loads* to prepare for but his discharge will be here before we know it so we need to be on top of all of this now! The complex care team who is following and will continue to follow him after his discharge has told us that we can prepare for Calvin to be home by the END OF MARCH if all continues to go well!
