Katharina had a spurt with no pain meds for a number of hours this morning. She is up to 30mL every hour of continuous feeds ( = 90mL every 3hrs). The goal is 90mL over one hour so they will slowly be working that back today and tomorrow. The dietician has scheduled it out that we should be at this goal around the time the surgeon gives Katharina the okay to head home!

Calvin’s blood gas yesterday morning showed a low pH level so they put him back on the ventilator for about 12hrs. They switched back to the trach mask last night and he’s been doing alright so far. They were planning to move him to the paeds floor today but are going to keep him in PCCU for one more night because the G-tube/J-tube nurse practitioner (for the paeds floor) is not here. He is up to full feeds now (27mL every hour continuous) and handling this well, and he is on a spurt of no pain meds at present!

They are transferring Katharina to a different room sometime today which means she will be in the same location that Calvin will be when he is transferred to the paeds floor. When he comes up, they *should* be able to move him right into her room!
Prayer Requests:
• Calvin to remain on the trach mask
• Katharina to continue handling her feeds alright as we start bolus feeding this afternoon
• Calvin and Katharina to share a room if he is transferred before her discharge
