Calvin was back in his room today just before noon. The anesthesiologist said surgery went well. Unfortunately, his CO2 levels were getting too high so they were unable to get the right hernia repaired. However, they got the broviac line inserted and repaired the left hernia (which was the bad one). He will be on a rocuronium (paralyzer) infusion for at least 48hrs now.
His surgeon spoke with us later this afternoon and said it was a very difficult surgery as the colon had got stuck (and probably had been for at least a week). We are so thankful it didn’t turn into an emergency situation anytime this past week like last surgery! Calvin is recovering over the next couple of days but we won’t know how he’s handling things until after the weekend.
Thank you for your prayers for our little boy today! We are giving God the glory for bringing Calvin through surgery this morning and now we wait on Him for what He has in store over the coming days.
