Our twins are seven weeks old today! ❤️
Calvin has had some scary moments with pneumonia and other infections, emergency breathing tube removal, an obstructed bowel, and requiring compressions for a “code blue”, but we are praising the Lord that he has been doing so much better over the last number of days. I was able to hold him again every day this week after almost a month of waiting while he was too unstable. He weighs 1520g (3lb, 5.6oz) but will lose some weight as he is currently on a diuretic to help decrease his fluid buildup.

Katharina has been steadily improving, though she also had a bout of infection as well as significant drops in her heartrate and oxygen levels. She is now doing so well with her breathing, loves having tub baths (first ones this week!), and even got to be beside her brother again for the first time since before birth. She weighs 1480g (3lb, 4.2oz) and gaining regularly.

Continue to pray for our babes as they still have a bumpy road ahead. It often feels like we are taking one step forward and two steps back. I would be just over 33 weeks pregnant at this time so the twins would have had at least another 3-5 weeks of growth left in my womb. We rejoice in answered prayers but we also know that they aren’t a guarantee of long-term health or ease. We are learning to trust Him more and in new ways every day. God’s mercy in their lives is undeserved and we are grateful!
